North Dakota pumped a record 243 million barrels of crude in 2012, the Associated Press reports. That?s more than 90 million barrels than the record set a year earlier.
The Jamestown Sun says North Dakota produced nearly 769,000 barrels a day in December following a rare dip in November. That?s up 4.6 percent from the previous month and a new all-time high of 23.8 million barrels.
Bloomberg News notes production dropped 2.2 percent in November after a blizzard dumped 8 inches of snow on Williston.
North Dakota remains the second state in the U.S. for oil production behind Texas.
